Crowd att: 150 (Official LFF)

Riga United lost to FK Liepāja in the semi final of the Latvian cup last night 3-0 in front of a record home crowd of 150. It will no doubt be disappointing to both players and fans alike, however, it wasn’t through lack of trying.

It all started so brightly, the atmosphere was good, the sun was shining and Riga came out of the blocks, looking for the early chance. Liepāja, still a little shocked from the 2-2 draw on Tuesday started tentatively.

For much of the first half there was not by way of much action around the goal area, though United goalie Vaivode was the busier of the two. Riga came close once in the first half when a cross came in but it was headed straight at the goalie.

However, the first half ended in a stalemate and Riga were probably the happier team. Though they weren’t creating much, they were also stopping Liepaja playing their game too.

Into the second and Liepaja had switched their tactics and started to spread the play a little more. And in the 65th min, they got their breakthrough, the loose ball came out of the box and after deftly missing two tackles it was smashed into the net. 6mins later it was 2-0 when a Liepaja player was adjudged to have been fouled in the area and the penalty was dispatched.

Riga’s heads went down and though they tried, the energy levels had dropped, though they kept going and were still trying to look for the break. For both teams, in the second half they started losing discipline and a few yellows cards started to appear.

However, by the 80th min it was game over, though it could be disputed there was a clear foul on defender Čeponyte, when the attacker stomped on her foot first and then ran through to pick up the ball and make it 3-0.

Riga did have one moment of brilliance but unfortunately it probably summed up their evening, when Liepāja played the ball back to the goalie. Vāciete and Bidermane were on it quickly while there was confusion, however, as Bidermane ran in, the ball was somehow hit with too much pace and she couldn’t get on the end of it.

The evening came to the end with Liepaja looking happy and also relieved, which is telling of how much effort the United ladies put in. Tired legs played a big factor in this game and United were just more tired than Liepaja. Though without a doubt, Riga played with all the heart in the world.

This season, as whole, will be one which every member of the Ladies’ team should be proud of. There have been a lot of highs and this debut season will be a big springboard for next year. Liepaja and RFS should not underestimate how hard it will be to play against them.

Riga United ar rezultātu 0-3 atzina FK Liepāja komandas pārrākumu cīņā par iekļūšanu Latvijas Kausa finālā, spēli vērojot rekordskaitam skatītāju (150 fani). Šis bija visai sāpīgs zaudējums kā spēlētājām, tā skatītājiem, bet nevar teikt, ka dāmas necīnījās.

Viss sākās pavisam pozitīva, atmosfēra stadionā bija laba, saule spīdēja un Riga United laukumā devās ar apņēmību. Liepāja, vēl noteikti cenšoties atgūties no otrdienas spēles neizšķirta (2-2), spēli iesāka visai piesardzīgi.

Lielāko daļu pirmā puslaika spēle norisinājās laukuma vidusdaļā un līdz vārtiem bumba nonāca visai reti, tomēr United vārtsardzei E. Vaivodei darba tomēr bija vairāk nekā pretinieču vārtsardzei. Riga nonāca līdz labai vārtu gūšanas iespējai pašā pirmā puslaika izskaņā, kad pēc stūra sitiena bumba ar galvu no tuvas distances tika raidīta tieši vārtsardzei virsū.

Pirmais puslaiks tā arī noslēdzās ar nezišķirtu 0-0, par ko daudz apmierinātākas bija Riga United dāmas. Lai arī viņām nezidevās izveidot daudz uzbrukums, viņām veiksmīgi izdevās apturēt Liepājas uzbrukumus.

Otrajā puslaikā Liepāja sāka vēl vairāk kontrolēt bumbu, izmantojot savu tehnisko pārrākumu. Spēles 65. minūtē Liepāja panāca lūzumu, kad, pēc cīņas par bumbu iepretim soda laukumam, un skaista individuālā izgājiena apspēlējot vairākas mūsu spēlētājas, pretinieču spēlētāja raidīja to vārtu tīklā. Jau sešas minūtes vēlāk rezultāts kļuva 2-0, kad spēles tiesnese nozīmēja 11m soda sitiena pēc spēlētājas paklupināšanas soda laukuma kreisajā pusē.
Riga United spēlētāju galvas nokārās un, lai arī viņas tomēr cīnījās un spēles līmenis nokritās un jekādi centieni panākt spēles gaitas maiņu bija neveiksmīgi. Abas komandas otram puslaikam ritot sāka zaudēt disciplīnu, kā rezultātā tika parādītas arī vairākas dzeltenās kartiņas.

Jebkādām cerībām punktu pielika 80.minūtē gūtie trešie vārti, kur gan jāsaka, ka visai agresīvi un uz soda robežas tika nospēlēts pret mūsu aizsardzi A. Čeponyte, bet tiesnese atļāva spēli turpināt un pretinieču uzbrucēja to arī sekmīgi raidīja vārtu tīklā.

Pēdējā iespēja gūt vārtus Riga United radās, kad pēc neveiksmīgas izspēles atpakaļ vārtsargam, tiesnese norādīja uz brīvsitienu, ko savukārt ātri uz apjukuma rēķina centās izspēlēt Vāciete un Bidermane. Diemžēl steigā bumba tika raidīta par spēcīgu un Bidermane nespēja to raidīt tukšajos vārtos.

Vakars noslēdzās un Liepāja bija priecīgas par uzvaru un arī atvieglotas, kas daudz ko pasaka par to cīņu, ko Riga United sagādāja pretiniecēm. Nogurušās kājas bija viens no galvenajiem faktoriem, kas šodien noteica spēles gaitu un likās, ka RU dāmas bija vairāk nogurušas nekā liepājnieces. Bet vēlreiz jāsaka, ka cīņas sparu dāmām pārmest nevar, varēja labi redzēs, ka spēlēja viņās ar visu sirdi un dvēseli.

Atskatoties uz visu aizvadīto sezonu, šī noteikti ir jāpatur kā neaizmirstama priekš dāmu komandas un visām par to ir jābūt lepnām. Sezonas garumā ir iegūtas daudz pozitīvu emociju un šī debija būs par pamatu vēl lielākiem sasniegumiem nākamjā gadā. Liepāja un RFS noteikti nāksies pasvīst ar mums mērojoties nākamjā gadā.
