The morning kick off, of 10:00, clearly did not affect Riga United as they went out ‘all guns blazing’ against Ceriba. In a game which saw some of the best passing this season, Riga ran away with the game and finished 7-0 winners.
There were many positives to take from this game. As mentioned, overall the passing was great, they kept fighting and wanting to score despite the scoreline and all of the players available got game time. Plus the 7 goals today came from 4 different players, which will be something of an encouragement to the whole team.
Despite looking a little rusty, which is to be expected, in the
opening minutes of the game, it didn’t take long for Riga to get
into gear as Leonie Kohlsaat and her pace were utilised in the
early stages.
By the 7th minute, Riga had already had a couple of shots on goal but it was from a Kristin Aune corner that Ieva Bidermane rose highest to place it in the corner of the goal and give the team the start they needed.
For most of the first half, Riga dominated possession and the game. The midfield was the key for most of the good work today. Every player gave something and put a shift in. They pressured when needed and for the most part, linked up well. However, despite the domination, the team was missing that clinical finish as they came close on several occasions but were just not getting those shots off.
It wasn’t until the 40th minute, after another energetic wave of attack from Riga, that they found their second of the game. This time Liene Vāciete worked hard on the right, linking up well, made a lovely cross into the box for Bidermane to get a head to it and comfortably make it 2-0.
In the second half, even after some substitutions, United did not let up and it also didn’t take them long to score. In fact it was second half substitute Anika Wetzel who created the 3rd and scored the 4th in the space of four minutes. To make it 3-0, Wetzel worked hard to create space and played a lovely cross in for Vāciete to make a clinical and good finish.
Four minutes later, Wetzel again found herself attacking on the right and from what appeared as a cross-shot, though I imagine Wetzel will say it was a shot, whatever it was, it was a great ball and it found it’s way into the net with the goalie looking helpless.
In this match, Riga utilised their fullbacks and wingers well. A lot of attacks from Ceriba were stopped and a lot attacks from Riga were started and looked dangerous from the wings.
The 5th goal came in the 65th minute. Another Aune corner and another great header from Bidermane. To not only make history by being the first women’s player to score a hat trick but also it came from a hat trick of headers, to the delight of the supporters attending. It should be noted Bidermane hit the post twice before this for her hat trick but it was 3rd time lucky.
The 6th and 7th came 10 minutes later in the 75th and 76th minute respectively. Both from the same scorer, Kristin Aune. The first was a lovely shot from outside the box, with the second, it appeared as if there was some confusion for the fans as it looked like it went over but with the goalie stranded, it dipped beautifully under the crossbar and nestled into the net.
For the last 15mins, Riga kept on trying to add to the total but it didn’t quite click, however, they did come close a few times.
The final whistle blew and it’s was a good result for a tough
week ahead. All in all, the score represents how hard and how much
United dominated this game. This was a great performance. There
were some breakdowns in communication and passing, but first game
back after a break, it is to be expected.

This will surely give them the confidence to go into the last
league game and semi final cup game against a difficult opponent in
the form of Liepāja. However, they can enjoy the moment now.
When the supporters’ group caught up with Manager Justin Walley
after the game, this is what he had to say:
“Obviously we are all delighted with the victory. The quality of
football was high, Ieva got our first ever hat trick, Agota made
her debut and all 18 players featured. I don't want us to get ahead
of ourselves though; we are still massive underdogs for the two
matches against Liepaja. The ladies need to take a well-earned rest
over the weekend and come in for training on Monday hungry to build
on the positives from today.”
Marcon’s Player of the Game: It has to be a tie. Both Kristin Aune and Ieva Bidermane. Bidermane worked tirelessly throughout, linking play and creating chances, not to mention the hat trick. Aune, she was solid at the back and with two goals and three assists to her name, she put in a phenomenal performance today.
But I couldn’t understate, how much the team, as a whole, worked so hard and did so well today.

Agrais rīta cēliens Riga United dāmām netraucēja sākt cīņu pret Cerība komandu ar riktīgu sparu. Spēlē, kurā bija vērojama viena no labākajām saspēlēm šīs sezonas griezumā, mūsu dāmas guva kopumā 7 vārtus, spēlei noslēdzoties ar 7-0.
Ir ļoti daudz pozitīvu lietu, ko mēs varam paņemt no šīs spēles. Kā jau minējām iepriekš, bumbas kontrole bija ļoti laba, visas spēles garumā, neskatoties uz vārtu pārsvaru, kas jau tika iegūts visai laicīgi, dāmas turpināja cīnīties un gūt vēl vairāk vārtu. Tāpat jāatzīmē, ka visas spēlētājas dabūja iespēju paspēlēt. Piedevām gūto 7 vārtu autores ir 4 spēlētājas, kas var dot labu uzmundrinājumu visai komandai, jo pierāda, ka mēs varam būt bīstami no dažādām pozīcijām.
Lai gan spēles sākumā kustības izskatījās visai ierūsējošā, kas gan ir saprotams pēc garā spēļu pārtraukuma, RU nevajadzēja daudz laika lai visi saspēles mehānismi ieeļļotos un RU sāktu spēlēt savu spēli. Spēles sākumā ļoti labi darbojās Leonie Kohlsaat, kas veiksmīgi izmantoja brīvās zonas un raidīja dažus bīstamus sitienus.
Spēles 7tajā minūtē, kad bija jau izdarīti vairāki bistami sitieni pretinieču vārtu virzienā, tika veiksmīgi realizēts stura sitiens, kur Kristin Aune ar savu fantastisko sitienu nogādāja bumbu tieši uz Ievu Bidermani, kas spēja uzlekt visaugstāk un raidīt bumbu vārtu stūrī, tādā veidā dodot startu pārējiem vartu guvumiem.
Pirmajā puslaikā RU dominēja katrā laukuma daļā un tieši pussargu līnija nodrošināja šo dominanci. Visas spēlētājas izdarīja savu darbu un deva labu ieguldījumu rezultāta kaldināšanā, nospēlējot agresīvāk kur tas bija nepieciešams un labi saslēdzoties aizsardzībā. Ar visu to brīžiem pietrūka aukstasinīguma noslēguma daļā, kad bija jāgūst vārti.
Līdz nākamajiem vārtiem bija jāgaida vairāk kā 30 minūtes, kad RU ieslēdzās uz otro uzbrukuma vilni, kur pēc skaistas saspēles laukuma vidū Liene Vāciete aizskrēja pa labo pusi un izdarīja centrējumu uz vartiem pāri vārtsardzei, kur neviena nepiesegta atradās Ieva Bidermane, kas netraucēti raidīja bumbu jau tukšos vārtos, panākot 2-0.
Otrajā puslaikā, neskatoties uz veiktajām maiņām (kas ļoti labi ieintegrējās spēlē), spēles temps nemainījās un RU turpināja uzbrukt un kontrolēt spēles gaitu. Tieši uz maiņu iznākusī Anika Wetzel bija tā, kas izveidoja trešo un ceturto vartu gūšanas momentus. Ar labu darbību labajā malā, Wetzel atbrivoja sev vietu, lai izdarītu centrējumu, kur Liene Vāciete, apsteidzot gan vārtsargu, gan savu pretspēlētāju, raidīja bumbu vārtu tīklā.
Tikai 4 minūtes vēlāk Wetzel atkal uzbrūkot pa labo malu atbrīvoja sev vietu un, kas izskatījās vairāk ka centrējums, pārtapa vārtu guvumā, pretinieču vārtsardzei paliekot bezspēcīgai ko glābt.
Šī bija spēle, kurā RU izdevās veiksmīgi izmantot gan malējos pussargus, gan aizsargus. Daudzi no uzbrukumiem tika apturēti un arī daudzi no uzbrukumiem tika sākti izmantojot malējos pussargus, kas līdz šim tik veiksmīgi nebija izvedes.
Piektie vārti tika gūti spēles 65. minūtē. Aunes stūra sitiens un vēl viens iespaidīgs sitiens ar galvu Bidermanes izpildījumā. Tādā veidā kļūstot ne vien par pirmo dāmu mūsu komandā, kas ir guvusi hat-trick kādā no spēlēm, bet līdzjutējiem par prieku gūstot hat-trick no sitieniem ar galvu. Jāatzīmē, ka pirms saviem trešajiem vārtiem Bidermane arī trāpīja pa vartu stabu divos no saviem raidījumiem, bet, kā saka, trešā reize tā laimīgā.
Sestie un septītie vārti tika gūti 10 minūtes vēlāk 75. un 76. minūtē un abu vārtu autore ir Kristin Aune. Pirmie vārti bija skaists raidījums uzreiz aiz 16m laukuma un otrie bija sitiens no 20+ metriem, kas līdzjutējiem no malas izskatījās kā raidījums pāri vartiem, tomēr bija sitiens tieši kreisajā "devītniekā".
Pēdējās 15 spēles minūtes RU centās palielināt spēles rezultātu, un lai gan dažās no epizodēm dāmas bija ļoti tuvu tam, vairāk vārtu netika gūts.
Atskanot spēles beigu svilpei dāmas domājams bija apmierinātas ar sniegumu savā pirmajā no trim spēlēm šai nedēļā. Spēles rezultāts parāda to , cik smagi dāmas strādāja un cik pārliecinoši dominēja šo spēli. Bija prieks skatīties! Dažbrīd bija vērojamas problēmas komunikācija vai piespēlēs, bet tās ir lietas, kas ir saprotamas pirmajā spēlē pēc pārtraukuma.

priekšā ir divas smagas spēles pret Liepājas komandu, kur mēs esam
ļoti izteikts otrais numurs. Dāmām ir nepieciešams tagad kārtīgi
atpūsties, atjaunoties un mēs tiekamies nākamajā treniņā pirmdien,
lai uz šīm pozitīvajām emocijām turpinātu gatavošanos nākamajam
divām spēlēm".
Macron Labākā speldētāja: Šoreiz tas ir neizšķirts starp Kristn Aune un Ievu Bidermani. Bidermana pašaizliedzīgi darbojās visa mača garumā nodrošinot sadarbību starp aizsardzības līniju un uzbrukumu, izveidojot daudzus bīstamus momentus un arī protams jāpiemin gūtais hat-trick. Aune savukārt bija aizsardzības balsts un ar saviem 2 gūtajiem vārtiem un 3 piespēlēm, kas nodrošināja vārtu guvumu, sodien rādīja fenomenālu sniegumu.
Tomēr es velreiz uzsveršu, ka šodien visa komanda izdarīja fantastisku darbu un rādīja sniegumu, ko bija prieks skatīties.
